Dennis Rodman to join WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025

Dennis Rodman, a five-time NBA champion with the Detroit Pistons (1989, 1990) and Chicago Bulls (1996-1998), who was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011,[1][2] has been selected for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025. The ceremony is scheduled during WrestleMania 41 week at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 19, 2025.[3][4]

WWE announced the class on its website and during the March 7, 2025, episode of SmackDown. Rodman will be inducted alongside Stephanie McMahon, AJ Styles, the tag team Demolition, and the headliner Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.[3][5]

Rodman, known for his rebounding prowess and defensive play during an 18-year NBA career, made several forays into professional wrestling in the late 1990s with World Championship Wrestling (WCW). He participated in the 1997 WCW Bash at the Beach battle royal and teamed with Hulk Hogan in a tag-team match against Karl Malone and Diamond Dallas Page at WCW Bash at the Beach on July 12, 1998.[6][7]

During the 1998 NBA Finals between the Bulls and Utah Jazz, Rodman missed a practice to appear on WCW Nitro on June 7, 1998, prompting a $100,000 fine from the Bulls.[8][9] Rodman has not competed in a WWE ring but made a non-wrestling appearance at All Elite Wrestling's Battle of the Belts IX event on July 29, 2023.[3][10]

Previous athletes inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame include boxer Mike Tyson (2012), baseball player Pete Rose (2004), NFL players William "Refrigerator" Perry (2006) and Bob Uecker (2010, MLB broadcaster), and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger (2015).[11][12] Former U.S. President Donald Trump was inducted in the celebrity wing in 2013.[11]
