Commanders WR Deebo Samuel debuts leg tattoos of Kobe, Ali
Washington Commanders wide receiver Deebo Samuel revealed new leg tattoos honoring Kobe Bryant, Muhammad Ali and Martin Luther King Jr. Tattoo artist Andres Ortega of Arizona spent seven hours etching the portraits on one leg several weeks ago. Photos shared on Ortega's social media provided fans a close view of the ink.
The opposite leg features images of Samuel's son from his toddler years, the video game character Sonic the Hedgehog and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Samuel's six-season tenure with the San Francisco 49ers ended with a trade to the Commanders in March 2025. He recorded 727 receiving yards in his lone season with Washington.
Samuel built a reputation as a versatile offensive player during his time with the 49ers. The tattoos blend sports legends, civil rights figures and personal tributes.
