Barkley's Hamstring Injury Not Seen As Long-Term, Eagles Say

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is considered week-to-week with a hamstring injury that is not expected to sideline him for an extended period, according to NFL Network. Barkley was hurt during Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and did not return to the game.

Head coach Nick Sirianni declined Monday to say whether Barkley will be available for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. "I know he'll do everything he can do to get himself back," Sirianni said. Barkley finished Sunday's game with two carries for eight yards after totaling 174 yards on 34 carries through the first three games of the season. biathlon odds online

The Eagles' backfield depth has also taken a hit. Backup Tank Bigsby is reportedly headed to injured reserve after sustaining an injury late in Sunday's game that will require core muscle surgery, according to NFL Network. The procedure is scheduled to take place at the Philadelphia-based Vincera Institute, with Bigsby expected to miss roughly six weeks or less. Will Shipley is now the only healthy running back on Philadelphia's active roster, while Dameon Pierce, Carson Steele and Jaydon Blue remain on the practice squad.

Philadelphia is also managing injuries along the offensive line. Left guard Cam Jurgens entered the concussion protocol after self-reporting symptoms Monday morning, according to NFL Network. Jurgens had shifted from center to left guard to replace Landon Dickerson, who is on injured reserve with a knee injury. The Eagles will need to navigate those absences as they prepare for their matchup against the Jaguars in London.
